Biography:
Martine Brunschwig Graf has been involved in peace and human rights issues for many years, as a member of the French National Committee for the Defense of Human Rights:
- Member of the Swiss Peace Foundation Board.
- President of the Federal Commission against Racism (since 2012)
- President of the Association for the Prevention of Torture (APT) since June 2006
- Co-president of the Association pour la promotion d'une institution suisse des droits humains since June 2006.
She is also a member of the Board of Trustees of several organizations working in the social field (integration of young people into the world of work (SGIPA), senior citizens (Pro Senectute), people in distress (member of the Committee and helpline operator, La Main Tendue).
She was constantly involved in politics, first in Geneva, then in Switzerland. State Councillor from 1993-2005 (Education, then Finance, then Military Affairs), including two terms as President of the Geneva State Council, she was also President of the Geneva Liberal Party, then a member of the National Council from 2003 to 2011, where she was notably a member of the Foreign Policy Committee.
