Biography:
Born of aristocratic parents, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry was an aviator with a thirst for adventure, a humanist and idealist writer as well as a man of science (holding nearly a dozen patents). Despite failing out of the Naval Academy, he managed to make a career in aviation during his military service in 1921.
