Biography:
Charles Favre was personal advisor to the Archbishop of Lyon. He was heavily involved in the thorny issues surrounding the deportation. In particular, he accompanied Cardinal Decourtray on a mediation mission that led to the departure of the Carmelite nuns, who had chosen to set up their convent on the grounds of the former Auschwitz concentration camp. He also advised lawyer Alain Jakubowicz during the trial of Klaus Barbie.
