Biography:
Diderot's work seeks to define the true nature of man and his place in the world. Initially very anti-Christian, he later defined himself as a deist, then proposed a universal morality based on natural human feelings and reason, rather than on God. From 1947, and for 20 years, Diderot edited the Encyclopédie that made him famous, including the beautiful article on peace.Publications:
