* There is no translation of the word empowered in French dictionaries, but the word is increasingly used in English, French and Italian texts, particularly by associations, NGOs and OGs. Google counted over 20 million entries with this word in 2005, and 28,000 in French-language pages. Some bilingual dictionaries indicate authorized, empowered or autonomized, which do not describe the very important aspect of self-awareness.
