Biologist, psychologist and epistemologist.
Biography:
Jean Piaget's main work was in the fields of developmental psychology and genetic epistemology. Indeed, his initial project was epistemological in nature, as he sought to understand how knowledge develops during the evolution of the human species. His work led him to develop four models of psychological development, and he came to be regarded as a psychologist. However, his theories had a huge impact on pedagogy, and more specifically on new pedagogy, and today he is considered a precursor of so-called "active" pedagogies: pedagogy has the role of supporting development by providing stimulating environments for children to experiment.
