Reconciliation

This definition contrasts with those found in the major dictionaries of different languages, which are systematically limited to the notion of re-establishing friendship or harmony between two estranged people. (Larousse, Littré, Trésors de la langue française, Mediadico, Merriam Webster, Oxford en-ligne,…).

Example:

“Larousse tells us that to reconcile means to bring together people who have been angry.
