Sustainable Development Goals (2016-2030)

In September 2015, the Sustainable Development Goals were redefined and voted on at the UN for the period 2016-2030. They now include 17 goals.

Among the most significant additions are a separate goal on peace, justice and violence-free institutions(Goal 16) and the goal of quality education(Goal 4).

Which of the 17 Objectives is the foundation of all the others?

Quality education (MDG 4) and, above all, full quality education.

Education alone (learning the basic disciplines) cannot achieve this. It lacks an understanding of the issues at stake. Values, empathy, motivation and the self-confidence to take action are absent as learning. So are the eco-citizen skills needed to act collectively.
