    Olympism<\/b> is a philosophy of life, exalting and combining in a balanced whole the qualities of body, will and mind. Combining sport with culture and education, Olympism aims to create a lifestyle based on the joy of effort, the educational value of<\/i> good example<\/i> and respect for fundamental universal ethical principles<\/i>. <\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    The aim<\/b> of Olympism<\/b> is to place sport at the service of the harmonious development of mankind, with a view to promoting a peaceful<\/i> society concerned with the preservation of human dignity<\/i>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Note: the many peace-promoting concepts of Olympism are italicized here and below.<\/i><\/p>\n

      The Olympic Movement is the concerted, organized, universal <\/i>and permanent action, exercised under the supreme authority of the IOC, of all <\/i>individuals and entities inspired by the values <\/i>of Olympism. (…)

      Sport is a human right<\/i>. Every individual must have the opportunity to practise
      sport without discrimination<\/i> of any kind and in the Olympic spirit<\/i>, which demandsmutual<\/i>

      Any form of discrimination against a country or a person based on race, religion, politics, sex or any other consideration is incompatible with membership of the Group. <\/i>
