With that, the subway arrived. The lady jostled the little girl to get in front of the carriage doors. And, as soon as the train stopped, the lady opened the door, and turning theatrically to the mother and little girl, announced: “France first!” <\/p>\n

A burst of laughter erupted from the carriage. Indeed, it was packed with all the world’s human diversity! <\/p>\n

The lady, furious at being greeted by so many colors, exclaimed: “We’ve had enough of all these yellows, Moors and blacks invading us!<\/p>\n

A few stations later, the mother, preparing to go downstairs with her daughter, and standing in front of the exit door, proudly exclaimed “Eh oui, la France d’abord!” and seeing the astonished look on the lady’s face, told her, “La Martinique est bien fran\u00e7aise!”<\/p>\n
