They now include 17 goals. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among the most significant additions are a separate goal on peace, justice and violence-free institutions<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.grainesdepaix.org\/fr\/ressources\/references\/developpement-durable\/resolveuid\/25dccc91f95440508b262792000d890b\">(Goal 16<\/a>) and the goal of quality education<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.grainesdepaix.org\/fr\/ressources\/references\/developpement-durable\/resolveuid\/0a5745c3df4b4285b4fd30aa026a77dd\">(Goal 4<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Which of the 17 Objectives is the foundation of all the others?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.grainesdepaix.org\/fr\/ressources\/references\/developpement-durable\/resolveuid\/0a5745c3df4b4285b4fd30aa026a77dd\">Quality education (MDG 4)<\/a> and, above all, <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.grainesdepaix.org\/fr\/ressources\/references\/developpement-durable\/resolveuid\/b856b75f56ab4d0dbeed60dd84ba4aa6\"><em>full<\/em> quality education<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Education alone (learning the basic disciplines) cannot achieve this. It lacks an understanding of the issues at stake. Values, empathy, motivation and the self-confidence to take action are absent as learning. So are the<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.grainesdepaix.org\/fr\/ressources\/references\/developpement-durable\/resolveuid\/a95e8303a7b64c8ba5e0d7ea0d8959b2\"> eco-citizen skills<\/a> needed to act collectively.   <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In September 2015, the Sustainable Development Goals were redefined and voted on at the UN for the period 2016-2030.
